The Hood

At Neighbor, we are fortunate to have some pretty established name brands for clients.  But occasionally, a new company will come to us with an idea so exciting, we’ll find pretty much any excuse to work with them.

Such was the case with Wellness FX, a health technology startup we met at the LOHAS conference last year in Boulder, CO.

Recognizing how antiquated and inefficient today’s healthcare system is, from the waiting room to the lack of access to medical records, WellnessFX set out to revolutionize this system and the way that people interact with their health.  Sounds like a pretty lofty task, right?  It was.  And while the team went about building a truly amazing product and platform, communicating such an idea proved an equally challenging task.

That’s when Neighbor joined the picture.  We worked with WellnessFX to establish a brand identity and streamline their product message to make it digestible for potential consumers.  At it’s most basic level, the process looks like this: Get your blood drawn, receive data on biomarkers, consult with a WFX approved physician (on the phone) to understand where your personal risks lie and how to improve them, and track your progress moving forward using the WFX digital dashboard.  By giving patients access to their health data and the tools to improve upon it, the brand empowers individuals to proactively manage their health outside the confines of a doctor’s office.

Through a series of brand exercises, we developed a strategic brand architecture for WellnessFX to communicate this process in a way that was straightforward, simple, and approachable.  This required stripping some of the intimidating medical jargon, adding some imagery, and establishing a tone that was helpful instead of clinical.

Once we figured out how to talk about the brand, we went on to tell people about it, managing all of WellnessFX public relations efforts.  Having used the product ourselves, we could confidently speak to it’s incredible utility and succeeded in gaining coverage in Fast Company, Wall Street Journal, and Venture Beat, to name a few.  Furthermore, we established credibility and trust for the brand with the press, who are bombarded with start-up pitches in today’s economy.

Check our their website, www.wellnessfx.com, and give it a try if you’re feeling motivated to get healthy.  The experience and results are nothing short of astounding!
